Frequently asked
questions
My device isn't on the list. Will it work?
Possibly. If your device speaks SIP, supports one of the audio codecs below and sends H.264 video, there's a good chance it works, even if we haven't tested that model.
Not every manufacturer implements SIP the same way, though, which is why we validate brands one by one. "Not listed" means "not validated yet", not "incompatible". Tell us the brand and model and we'll share any field experience we have.
How can I find out without committing?
Every CyberGate subscription starts with a 30-day free trial. Connect the device, make test calls to Microsoft Teams, and decide afterwards. Contact us first if you'd like help with the configuration.
What does "compatible" mean on this list?
Every brand listed has been tested end-to-end with CyberGate and Microsoft Teams. Each brand page lists the validated models and links to its Device Configuration Manual.
Which protocols and codecs does a device need?
SIP over UDP or TCP (port 5060), or TLS (port 5061). With TLS, audio and video are encrypted with SRTP.
- Audio: G.711 (µ-law or A-law), G.722 or Opus. Audio is required.
- Video: H.264 (Constrained Baseline, Baseline or Main profile), up to 1080p Full HD. Video is optional: a device without H.264 connects audio-only.
- DTMF: RFC 4733 telephone events.
Can I mix brands and device types in one tenant?
Yes. All devices register to the same Microsoft tenant, across sites and brands. Video intercoms, IP cameras and IP paging systems each need their own CyberGate offer.
We have an untested device and a deadline. Can you validate it?
Talk to us before you commit anything to your customer. We test new devices regularly and can work with you or the manufacturer to verify yours.
